Abstract
Reconstructive surgery are those concerned with fundtinal and esthetic restoration after ablation surgery in the head and neck region. In recent years our understanding of the myocutaneous flaps has grown significantly and now the operative techniques of the myocutaneous flap surgery has been standardized already. We also have come to the agreement to the superiority of the myocutaneous flaps to the cutaneous flaps in the head and neck reconstruction. There are several myocutaneous flaps which can be used in the reconstruction of heak and neck after ablation surgery and each myocuthneous flap has individual inherent advantages and limitations.

We have completed 8 cases of reconstruction with the pectoralis major myocutaneous flap, 1 of which involved mandible reconstruction by way of rib which attached to the pecotralis muscle, 5 cases of sternocleidomastoid myocutaneous flap, 2 cases of lateral trapezius myocutaneous flap, and 2 cases of lower trapezius myocutaneous flap for last 4 yesrs.

There have been several minor complications including wound infrction, partial flap edge loss, and fistular, but no major loss.

We have discussed the inherent advantages and limitations of individual myocutaneous flap in this paper.
